eyeRun
Live in the Cloud but Run Local
Sometimes a Web app is just not enough to work on certain files. Don’t ask your heavy users to settle for less performance than what they’re used to. eyeOS Professional Edition introduces our exclusive eyeRun technology: so simple, so revolutionary!
eyeRun is a plug-in that, once approved by the system administrator, can be installed in the users’ browsers.
eyeRun lets you open and modify your eyeOS files, i.e. files in your company’s private cloud, by using the local applications already installed on the client PC, Mac or Linux system. This gives you the performance needed to run Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint or any other large program like Photoshop, AutoCAD, etc. while keeping all your files in the cloud under company control. Because once you hit the SAVE button, your file will be saved to the cloud, leaving no trace of it on the client PC.
This feature can be enabled for just a subset of the company’s users –managers and heavy users, for example. The system administrator controls the files, the users enjoy the performance and the company saves on license fees.
eyeRun is an attractive alternative for companies who want to avoid virtualizing heavy local applications. For companies looking for complete centralization and standardization of local applications, eyeOS can virtualize them or integrate a cloud app into an eyeOS Web desktop like Microsoft Office 365 or Zoho.
eyeSync
Offline mode with cloud back-up
With eyeOS Professional Edition, you can keep the files from all the computers you use synchronized in your eyeOS account. Any changes you make to any files on any of these computers or with eyeOS will be automatically synchronized on all your devices. Once set up, the process runs automatically. Manual management is also an option. Synchronized files can also be limited to just one directory and its corresponding sub-directories.
eyeSync is a plug-in that, once approved by the system administrator, can be installed on the users’ PCs.
This feature can be enabled for just a subset of the company’s users – any mobile worker who needs to work offline, for example.
eyeSync is an attractive approach for companies looking for a simple, non-intrusive process to back-up their users’ files. What’s more, it is the easiest way for mobile workers to work offline.
eyeCal
Seamless connection with all your calendars and with collaborative features
eyeOS Professional Edition comes with its own CalDAV server. eyeCal, eyeOS’ calendar app, keeps track of your appointments in a number of ways. You may decide to use eyeCal as your root calendar, whereby CalDAV will synchronize eyeCal with the calendars from your other devices, or synchronize eyeCal to a calendar you are already accustomed to using.
Thanks to the CalDAV connector and CalDAV server, eyeOS integrates simply but powerfully with the users’ set of devices and the apps they are familiar with.
Yet eyeCal is not just another personal calendar app: it is a full-fledged collaborative tool with group functions that enhance the eyeOS’ collaborative file sharing and chat environment. For example, all group members will receive automatic calendar updates if the group leader or any member with sufficient rights sets it up this way for the group.
eyeChat
Collaborative chat for real-time communication
Staying connected with the other members of the project team is a must. eyeChat now comes with a group function that allows you to chat in real time with other group members.
eyeOS chat enables you to converse with workgroups previously established by the system administrator or privately between two or more team members. Its easy-to-use nature and platform integration means that users do not have to open a new window to interact with other members.
What’s more, as installation is not necessary, users can access the app from any computer with Internet access, permitting employee mobility. Thus workers can change work computer, work at home, while traveling, at another company location, and keep in contact with colleagues.
Viewer
View your files from any device
Need to find the right file or read a paragraph on your cell phone before walking into a client meeting? eyeOS Professional lets you view a file (Word document, Excel spreadsheet, PowerPoint presentation, a picture, etc.) quickly and easily, without having to use the corresponding program to open it. Our viewer has been intentionally redesigned and improved to perform fantastically with your mobile devices.
Both the system administrator and user, if authorized, can set the PC default file viewing option:
- via eyeOS Viewer, then the edit option,
- with the local app, thanks to eyeRun,
- with eyeDocs, eyeOS’ native rich text editor.
In terms of multimedia files, i.e. music and video, the viewer is compatible with most common formats, such as FLV, MP4 and H.264 video and MP3 audio files. Thus users can access and view or listen to the commercial we’re planning to present in the next meeting no matter where they are, without the need to install anything on their computer: everything’s in the cloud.
Mobile
Connect from any device
Being mobile goes way beyond just working from your laptop out of the office. Truly mobile workers may not have their PCs with them at all times. Emergency situations generally occur at precisely these moments: at a dinner in town, at an outdoor WE activity.
The mobile feature allows you to use eyeOS from any device, from a Smartphone to a tablet, adapting its interface to suit each one without pre-installing software, apps or plug-ins. Enjoy eyeOS Professional wherever you are and whenever you want.
The mobile feature allows the eyeOS viewer to work seamlessly on mobile devices. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF documents can be viewed anywhere, on any device. Video and audio files to boot: watch a video on your cell phone from a file you stored in eyeOS!
In addition, you can download these files and have them available to use with another application or send them via email or text message, for example.
And there’s still more! Imagine you’re at a restaurant and the office calls asking about a document: you forgot to send it! The mobile version now lets you share files via URL from anywhere, creating a link which allows third parties to download them. The comfort of the Cloud in your back-pocket. From anywhere.
